Basic RiderCourse
What:The alternative to the DMV road-test as a method to learn how to ride and be tested in one course. The Basic RiderCourse is offered on a 2 day/2.5 day schedule and prepares the student for at least 18 hours of practical riding and classroom instruction. Students can choose either 2 day or 2.5 day course and still receive the benefits.

Requirements:

Must be able to ride a bicycle
Must be 16 years of age or older
Be able to ride a bicycle
Possess a current and valid New York State
Driver's license
Possess a current valid New York State Motorcycle permit (link)

When:

Basic RiderCourse 2 1/2 day-
1st day:5:30pm - 9:00pm
2nd day:7:30am - 4:30pm
3rd day:7:30am - 1:00pm

Basic RiderCourse 2 day -
1st day:7:30am - 6:00pm
2nd day:7:30am - 6:00pm

This 2 day or 2 1/2 day Motorcycle Safety Foundation certified course will help you learn how to ride. Successful completion of the Basic RiderCourse will qualify you for a road test waiver. Courses fill on a first-come, first-serve basis. Learn how to ride, be safe and have fun!

A Private Lesson before you begin your course is not required but highly recommended for individuals who might be apprehensive or unsure of their ability to ride a motorcycle.
